Contact
one point, constant

Purpose

Playful drilling of maintaining unbroken contact through changing shapes. Builds continuity and creativity while keeping the stakes light and fun.

Setup

Pairs standing.

Play

  1. "Touch at one point — say, elbow to elbow. Pretend it's glued. It cannot break."
  2. "Now move, explore, change levels, turn — but that glue never lets go."
  3. Facilitator calls new sticky points every 45 sec: "Now knee to knee!" "Now shoulder to hip!" Dancers travel to the new point without ever fully breaking contact.

Cues

"The glue never breaks." · "Find the strange shapes." · "Travel to the new point along the body."

Variations

  • Easier: fewer changes, hands only.
  • Harder: two sticky points at once; or transition to a new point only by rolling the old one there.

Debrief

"What shapes did you end up in that you'd never choose on purpose?"

Watch For

Fun energy can speed things up and get careless — keep it slow enough to stay safe. No wrenching to reach a point.
