Purpose
The first group contact score. Multiple bodies stay in continuous contact as one moving mass, training group attunement, spatial awareness, and shared weight beyond the duet.
Setup
Groups of 3–6. Everyone in gentle contact, forming one connected "blob."
Play
- "You're one organism now — the blob. Everyone stays in contact with at least one other body at all times."
- "The blob moves. No leader. It travels, changes shape, rises and lowers — as one connected mass."
- "Roll the points of contact through the whole blob. Weight can be shared anywhere."
- Add a soft prompt: "The blob is curious… the blob is sleepy… the blob wants the far wall."
Cues
"At least one point of contact, always." · "Feel the whole blob, not just your neighbor." · "No one drives; everyone listens."
Variations
- Easier: stay standing/leaning, minimal weight.
- Harder: the blob passes a single body across its surface; eyes closed for some members.
Debrief
"Did the group ever move as one? What made it fragment? Who noticed the whole vs. just their partner?"
Watch For
More bodies = more collision risk. Keep it slow. Ensure the physically smallest aren't crushed under group weight; no one takes more than their own.
